Minister's in Training Course (Session 1/3)

Class Discussion: Have you seen, met, or heard of ministers that were not committed to ministry but were committed to discipleship? Have you seen, met, or heard of ministers committed to discipleship but did not see ministry as vital as it should be? If so, what were the results of a believer’s life after seeking out these ministers for guidance? Why is it important to know there is discipleship and ministry in the heart of a minister?

Class Discussion: What are some 3 scriptural examples that show how ministers express their purpose in the new testament? (Cannot use exact same examples used by another classmate)

Class Discussion: Have you done any volunteering or work similar to these duties, and if so, mention at least 1 example to the group. Which duty would you like to learn more about doing and why?

Class Discussions: When no one else is available to perform these expected responsibilities among the group, you are not to forge yourself into these responsibilities but rather to be open to performing these duties as a minister. Class Discussion: It is known that many who are unbelievers use biblical knowledge as a tool to manipulate their surroundings within and/or outside the will of God. What are some examples of science, history, practices, or artistic expressions found in the Bible that have not been used to support the work of Christ in the world?

Class Discussion: Application of the word of God can be annoying, embarrassing, and sometimes detrimental when using spiritual tools that do not apply to the current situation. However, much peace and goodness can happen when you have the proper application of spiritual expression around you. One example would be using scriptural accuracy for the wrong situation because you can be accurate and still incorrect. What are some personal examples when dealing with this, and provide a scriptural example that relates to your experience.

Class Discussion: Everyone has met someone gifted with no character at all. Often, gifted people in the church are praised and even treated with special care without being tested by their character. This issue is often camouflaged when involving people with scriptural memory retention or accuracy, which is also a gift from God to the church. What are scriptural examples of characters in the bible with this gift? What was the main character’s attitude and the antagonist’s, if there was any in the story?
